Practice Safe Plugins

For all my fellow designers who are thinking about creating a WordPress site for their portfolio, please be sure to practice safe plugins. While sharing the progress of my website with a fellow colleague, David Bryan, he send me a link to an article on Forbes.com listing out 6 recommendations to keep your WordPress site from getting hacked!

After installing the iThemes Security plugin, luckily before I removed password protection for general viewing, I launched the site and watched the list of attempted hacks line up. I found it fascinating that I could see the IP address, amount of times they attempted to login, what username they were logging in with, and the location of the failed hacker or computer.

I hope the hacks continue to fail… and eventually stop. Will they ever stop?
